Community Housing and Empowerment Connections Inc. is a community-based non-profit organization specializing in victim advocacy, community awareness and mobilization. We have a trained staff of volunteers who have years of experience in the prevention field and are Certified Prevention Specialists through the Delaware Certification Board and IC&RC exam. CHEC has implemented several nationally recognized evidenced-based programs such as: Fair Housing Education and Outreach, Families and Schools Together (FAST), Life Skills Training (LST), Too Smart To Start (TSTS), Too Good For Violence, and STRYVE. Additionally, through its’ partnership with NAACP, National Association of Social Workers-Delaware Chapter, Wilmington Prevention Coalition, New Castle Neighborhood Prevention Coalition, and Delaware State University, CHEC have over thirty years of experience forming community coalitions in Delaware. The areas where coalitions were formed are: Westside, Eastside, Northeast, Southbridge, Route 9, Route 40 and MOT.
