Mrs. Penny Dryden| Executive Director & Founder
Octavia "Penny" Dryden grew up in Rosegate, a small environmental justice community along the Route 9 Corridor of New Castle, Delaware. Mrs. Dryden is the Executive Director and Founder of Community Housing and Empowerment Connections Inc., (CHEC), director of the Delaware Environmental Justice Community Partnership and partner of the Delaware Concerned Residents for Environmental Justice. She has more than thirty years of experience in community advocacy, coalition building and outreach.
Mrs. Dryden most recently co-authored: Environmental Justice for Delaware, Mitigating Toxic Pollution in New Castle County Communities in 2017. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Economics from Delaware State University, and is a Certified Prevention Specialist. She is married to husband Kenneth Dryden with two adult sons and five precious grandchildren.
